The Stonecrest Municipal Court adjudicates cases arising from violations of traffic laws, local ordinances and certain state misdemeanors. It is the court's mission to provide efficient, fair resolution of all matters coming before it, and to ensure that all court users are afforded ready access to the court. The court will continue to emphasize public awareness and education, and further develop its procedures, so that the court may continue to provide excellent customer service.
Stonecrest's Municipal Court has jurisdiction over ordinance violations and state misdemeanors, including traffic violations, which occur within the city limits.

Chief Judge Jonathan Weintraub is an attorney and judge with thirty-nine years of experience in the fields of governmental, local and municipal law, litigation, land use and corporate law. His legal practice includes seven years as the County Attorney for DeKalb County, Georgia, five years as an attorney and County Attorney for Gwinnett County, Georgia during the period when it was the fastest growing county in the United States, five years as general counsel to the Etowah Water & Sewer Authority in Dawson County, Georgia, three years as judge pro hac vice in the Recorder's Court of DeKalb County and individual representation of businesses, governments and homeowner associations throughout the North Georgia area. In his early years he clerked at the Supreme Court of Georgia and in the Magistrate's Division of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Mr. Weintraub earned his A.B. in English from Syracuse University in 1969. After service in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict, he came to Georgia, where he worked in the wine industry while obtaining a Master's degree in Governmental Administration from Georgia State University in 1976. He then earned his Juris Doctor from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in 1979.
Mr. Weintraub is licensed to practice in the state and superior courts of Georgia, the Supreme Court and Court of
Appeals of Georgia, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the United States Court
of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Judge Michael L. Sheridan is a partner at the law office of Davis & Sheridan LLC in Lithonia, Georgia. He has
over ten (10) years of general litigation experience, specializing in family law, criminal defense, and personal
injury. His experience includes handling all aspects of litigation, from case investigation through and including
trial. Mr. Sheridan also serves as Judge Pro Tem for the City of South Fulton, Georgia Municipal Court. In addition,
Mr. Sheridan is an adjunct professor at Georgia Military College where he has taught ethics, critical thinking, and
Mr. Sheridan earned his B.B.A. in Finance from Howard University in 1998. After graduating, he worked in the
financial services industry for five (5) years before enrolling in law school. He then earned his Juris Doctor from
the University of Georgia in 2006.
Mr. Sheridan was recognized by Super Lawyers® as a Rising Star in General Litigation (2015-216). This honor recognizes no more than 2.5 percent (2.5%) of attorneys in each state. Mr. Sheridan is a member of the American Bar Association, Gate City Bar Association and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. He also serves on the board of the Lithonia Downtown Development Authority, where he is currently the Treasurer.
Mr. Sheridan is married to attorney Kimberly Sheridan and has two beautiful daughters, Leah and Lauren.
