Alecia Washington is known for her unselfishness and devotion as a community servant and community leader for the past 15+ years in the City of Stonecrest and surrounding areas.

She has led or participated in a wealth of community outreach programming, social work, mentoring, counseling, volunteering, community service and community advocate work. She has provided weekly food and clothes distributions, housing initiatives and resource programs to more than 10,000 residents through her non-profit organization, City of Hope Safe Haven. She has partnered with other community-focused, highly reputable organizations to bring about positive, civic change. A few of those organizations include Department of Homeland Security’s Community Emergency Response Team, The Los Angeles Dream Center, American Association of Christian Counselors, Government Procurement Innovators, New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, National Action Network (NAN), The New Black Wall Street Market and numerous other organizations.

As District 3’s new councilwoman, Alecia’s aim is to promote the safety, health, security, peace and general welfare of all Stonecrest residents, particularly in District 3. As the individual thrives, the family thrives. When the family thrives, the community thrives. And when the community is taken care of, you foster a sense of community pride – making it a better, safer place to live. And when communities work together, safer, cleaner neighborhoods become even more of a reality.
