DeKalb County voters approved a referendum in November 2017 for a Special Purpose Local Optional Tax (SPLOST). The referendum was passed overwhelmingly in the Election that provided funding for infrastructure projects such as street paving, sidewalks, parks improvements, intersection improvement and sidewalk improvements.
Each of the 12 cities and DeKalb County adopted Resolutions calling for a SPLOST and entered into Inter-Governmental Agreements (IGA). DeKalb County Resolution for the Referendum and City Council approved projects are provided click here
The SLOST revenue started in 2019 and will end in 2024. A new SPLOST referendum is required in November 2023 for continued collection of SPLOST funds.
