Municipal Court of Stonecrest Announces Amnesty Program in May

During the month of May, Municipal Court of Stonecrest will be implementing an amnesty program for individuals with outstanding citations and/or active bench warrants for failing to appear in court. The goal is to settle outstanding violations with the court, reduce arrests, and decrease the court’s overall caseload.

“This program not only offers those with outstanding citations or those who have been concerned about failure to appear warrants to settle their violation, but it also helps court staff reduce the backlog in cases due to continued effects of the pandemic,” said Court Administrator Mallory Minor.

Those who would like to take advantage of the program are invited to come by the Municipal Court of Stonecrest, located at 3120 Stonecrest Blvd. Suite 190, Stonecrest, GA 30038, Tuesday, May 11th and/or Tuesday, May 16th between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

During that time, if individuals pay their fines in full, contempt fees due to failure to appear will be forgiven. If the citation(s) require a mandatory court appearance, the individual will be granted a same day or future court date to appear before the judge, without being detained.
